Notes on equipment
1. It is sensible to line the main bag with a large plastic bag. As bags may go on roof racks, please ensure that bags are secure and no items are dangling outside. Please label plastic black bags that have kit in, as they all look the same at the other end!!!
2. No medicines to be packed in kit. All medicines to be handed in, before journey.
3. No chocolate or drinks to be packed inside kit
4. Please tick each item on this list as it is packed and include list within your kit bag. Remember, a letter from your parent stating you packed your own kit goes towards campers badge.
5. All Scouts & Cubs must travel in full uniform, with correct badges, for insurance purposes. Scouts & Cubs should bring a hanger to store the uniform.
6. Several thin layers are warmer and more adaptable than a few thick ones.
7. Thick cotton or preferably wool socks are best for hiking.
8. Very Old trainers, however tatty are useful about camp, and they could get wet (e.g. in water). These should be in addition to regular trainers.
9. The quantities on the list are an absolute minimum. Should you wish to take more (and if you have room) then that is okay. Remember you may have to carry it!!
10. We know that clothing can be expensive. So label it and you will get it back. If you have questions about quality then ask a leader.
11. No denim trousers should be taken on camp as these are not suitable for hiking or activities and take a long time to dry out
12. Only Scouts may bring any form of knives with the strictest permission of Parents and their Scout Leader. (on completion of Knife & Axe only). No Cubs may pack, carry or hold any form of Knives whatsoever.
Note also: Radios, players and other similar musical electric devices are not permitted. For personal safety and preservation of tentage, ALL aerosol sprays, and any sort of fly spray are not allowed.
The Group cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss to personal equipment or clothing, although we will make every effort to ensure that none occurs. We do not have insurance cover in respect to such personal items
