What we do
At the 1st Aldershot, we pride ourselves on showing our members the exciting and adventurous side of outdoor activities.
In our Leader team we have a collective holding of qualified instructors in, Abseiling, Archery, Canoeing, Climbing, Mountain Hillwalking and Rifle Shooting. Along with this we also own our own , maintained, equipment for each activity.
All of our Leaders enjoy the outdoor life and relish every opportunity to experience it first hand, this inevitably rubs off onto our members. Our Group achieve many nights under canvas, much more than the average Group, and the rural the better. With yearly week long summer camps and numerous weekends we achieve many 'back to basic' pursuits of fire lighting, outdoor cooking, hiking, and many more Scouting activities.

We have over 200 collective years in our Leader team, And we operate as a 'family unit' orientated Group. This means that there are strong links from Beavers to Cubs to Scouts onto network, often with different section Leaders helping out within other sections. This enables the child to receive familiarity throughout his/her scouting life in the 1st.
As said before, all equipment is owned by the 1st Aldershot and Leaders are qualified to national required standard. What this means is that activies are run at minute cost and camps away can be run on much smaller budgets.
